STOP DISCRIMINATION ONCE AND FOR ALL!

Discrimination is the practice of unfairly treating a person or group of people differently from other people. It is as well the ability to recognize the difference between things that are of good quality and those that are not. Why is there discrimination?

Through the years, we've heard a lot of statements about discrimination. Bad statements, not good. I mean, I can tell you several instances about how discrimination works on our society. But first, let me tell you that there are many kinds of discrimination.

First, let's talk about gender discrimination. Gender, some say that the world was made only for men and women. This is just a simple and short sentence, but inside it, is a statement which I consider one of the biggest ways to start discrimination. We don't have to hate the gays and lesbians. Why? Simple. They are also humans, regardless of their gender. We should have equal rights. Same goes to men and women. We should have the same right as men as what Pope Francis said "If someone is gay and he searches for the Lord and has good will, who am I to judge?"

This leads me to the next type of discrimination, religion discrimination. Recently, there was an incident about Charlie Hebdo attack in Paris, France on the 7th of January 2015, whereas 12 fatalities and 11 injured employees of the French satirical weekly newspaper Charlie Hebdo. The gunmen identified themselves as belonging to Al-Qaeda's branch in Yemen. On January 11, about two million people including more than 40 world leaders met in Paris for rally of national unity. The phrase Je suis Charlie (French for "I am Charlie") was a common slogan of support at the rallies and in social media.

According to the article in http://m.huffpost.com/us/entry/6442550, "And when the horrific assassinations of 12 media people and the wounding of another 12 media workers resulted in justifiable outrage around the world, did you ever wonder why there wasn't an equal outrage at the tens of thousands of innocent civilians killed by the American intervention in Iraq or the over a million civilians killed by the U.S. in Vietnam, or why President Obama refused to bring to justice the CIA torturers of mostly Muslim prisoners, thereby de facto giving future torturers the message that they need not even be sorry for their deeds (indeed, former Vice President Cheney boldly asserted he would order that kind of torture again without thinking twice)?" Why do they criticize the Muslim community when in fact other religions did bad things as well? What would the French Muslims living in Paris feel if other people think of them as terrorists when in fact they just worship and respect their Prophet Muhammad and Allah?

Do you see the discrimination part? Can you see my point? No? Let me tell you something. The muslims are to be blamed right? But who's the one to blame? Is it the one who expresses his thoughts or is it the one who defended his leader? What if the Catholics did the attack, do you think the medias would even dare to talk about it? I mean, I don't agree of what the Muslims did. I'm not considering it. It is not right to kill, but we have to understand that their rights should also be equal to our rights as a catholic.

Let us go back to my point. What started that incident? Those people who diss the Muslims leader, right? So, let me ask you again. Who's the one to blame, the Muslims or the people who talked negatively about Muhammad? We shouldn't have to point fingers to anyone, instead, we should respect each other's religion and create unity between the Muslims and Christians.

Now, how can we stop this? We should live in this world with harmony. We should look each and everyone with equality. We should bring back the values of humanity, the fairness in quality, and I assure you a world without racism and discrimination.
